I wake up in the morning and plan my day ahead
I’ts really nice to do that when your lying warm in bed
I’ll clean the flat this morning I’ll really spruce it up
But first of all I’ll have to have some coffee in a cup
The dog then needs his walkies so we go along the street
Then turn on to the promenade all kinds of folk to meet
There’s one who hurries by me There’s one who lifts his hat
And if I’m really lucky some will stop me for a chat
The cyclists and the joggers pass all trying to get fit
I must admit,I really do not envy them a bit
By the time we head back home again my little dog and I
The cleaning notion’s gone I think no matter how I try
But when I get to heaven I’m sure God doesn't care
If the ironing isn't finished and there’s clutter here and there
I admit when I’m in bed again I feel a twinge of sorrow
And then I think the heck with it I’ll do it all tomorrow
